Course Overview Certificate II in ESI - Powerline Vegetation Control UET20312

The Certificate II in ESI – Powerline Vegetation Control is for individuals working in the vegetation management field near electrical apparatus. This qualification provides competencies for planning and carrying out vegetation control at and above ground level near live electrical apparatus. Included are units related to compliance with relevant Commonwealth, State and Territory regulation, local government legislation, applicable industry Guidelines, Codes of Practices or other requirements for safe work and access near live electrical and mechanical apparatus.

Energy Safe Victoria’s Training Approval Statement issued 16 September 2013 requires these workers to attain UET20312 Certificate II in ESI Powerline Vegetation Control by 1st June 2015

Course Structure

The qualification consists of five core units and elective units. Identification of the individuals’ stream of work required requires selection of specific elective units.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

Previously trained and experienced employees/indiviudals can be taken through the recognition of prior learning process (RPL) to achieve the qualification Certificate II in ESI – Powerline Vegetation Control. The findings of the RPL assessment process will provide evidence that an employee is competent and then will be issued with a qualification. If the findings of the RPL assessment process indicate that an employee is not yet competent (in certain units), then gap training will be scheduled.
