This workshop identifies three facets of communication: active listening, verbal and non-verbal communication. Communication styles and listening styles are explored. Suggestions for improving these areas of communication are outlined to assist participants in better managing their communications… both at work and elsewhere.

Learning outcomes from attending this program will include:

• Identify the key components of communication
• Recognise three different communication styles and the effects
• Recognise the importance of listening in effective communication
• Identify three listening styles and the impact of these
• Use the components of active listening
• Use a model of communication factors – Mehrabian
• Identify the important components of verbal communication
• Ensure there is positive non-verbal communication
