ptt - Emotional Intelligence (Self)

Emotional intelligence can be seen as having two directions: inwards at the self, and outwards at others in our social world. The primary component of emotional intelligence is directed at the self. This refers to the awareness of emotions one is experiencing and their meaning, the ability to use emotions to aid our daily functioning and manage our emotions when required.

This is what will be explored in this workshop, Emotional Intelligence - Managing Emotions in Self. Once a person has gained this self-awareness and the skills of emotional management, the next step is to be able to identify and manage the emotions of the people around them, which is dealt with in the 2nd workshop .

The learning outcomes from attending this program will include the ability to:

• Accurately recognise and comprehend emotions in themselves and others
• Appropriately express and control emotion so as to facilitate emotional and intellectual growth in yourself and others
• Use emotions appropriately in different situations
• Make one’s emotions work by using them in ways that generate the desired results
