Learn the importance of checking your application equipment, carrying out pre-operational checks and reporting any faults to your supervisor. Identify any health and safety hazards and take steps to minimise risks including selecting and using the right personal protective equipment (PPE).
During the course of your studies you will handle and transport chemicals, interpret chemical labels, select appropriate mixing equipment and mix the chemicals for their intended use. Follow regulatory requirements to dispose of or store excess chemicals, clean PPE and application equipment and follow re-entry guidelines for treated areas according to workplace procedures.

- Recording information such as the amount of chemical applied
- Following emergency procedures during an accident or spill.
Assessment are conducted within realistic, workplace settings and are held over the duration of the unit.
