• Performing a release and rescue according to established procedures
• Confirming basic first aid, electric shock and resuscitation procedures
• Assessing site conditions and weather conditions and their potential effect on safety
• Selecting relevant rescue and safety equipment
• Checking that emergency communication systems used to summon emergency services are in good working order and have enough battery charge and range
• Identifying hazards associated with rescues from trees near live electrical apparatus
• Demonstrating correct use of PPE, manual handling and basic first aid
• Selecting and using rescue access equipment including climbing spikes, safety lines, harnesses and aerial lifts
• Demonstrating how casualties are prepared for descent by immobilising the head and neck, setting life lines, using slings, harnesses, pulleys and rescue stretchers
